Who is accountable

Pages are signed by the GTCI Insights editors, one editorial desk. The desk answers for each sentence: a mistake is corrected under its name and logged on the corrections page. Questions and error reports go through the contact page.

Sources, strongest first

  1. The index reports. The Global Talent Competitiveness Index reports of each edition, read as the published documents (13 of the 39 sources the pages cite). Rankings, scores, country counts, model structure and edition themes come from here and nowhere else.
  2. International bodies. Publications of the World Economic Forum, the OECD, the ILO and United Nations agencies, for the definitions and figures of their own surveys and indices (22 sources). A body is named on a page only when that page cites its document.
  3. Other published documents. An academic paper, a business school's ranking pages and a company's report (4 sources), used for what they themselves claim and never for a number that belongs to the index or to an international body.

A figure comes from the highest tier that covers it. Social posts, anonymous blogs and aggregator sites are never sources.

Every ranking carries its year

Each edition of the index rebuilds its model, so a score of 74 in one edition and a score of 74 in another are not the same measurement. We state the edition year with every rank or score, we never compare scores across editions, and we compare ranks only when the report itself does or when both editions rank the same country on a stated basis.

How a figure is checked

Before a page goes live, each number is tied to a passage in a saved copy of its source, and scripts confirm that the passage exists, that every number in the sentence appears in it (sums, differences and shares we calculate ourselves are labeled as our arithmetic and the working is shown), and that the same fact reads the same on every page. An editor then reads the page against the passages. If the source does not say it, the sentence goes. This checks sourcing; it cannot make a source right. Where a report contradicts itself or a later one, we say which passage we followed.

Dates and updates

Each page shows when it was published, when it was last updated and when it was last checked, and each source shows the day it was read. The date changes only when the content does. A new edition of the index triggers a re-read of every page that quotes the previous one, and the changes page records what moved.

What these pages are not

They are explanations, not advice. Nothing here recommends a career, a course, a place to move to or a hire, and no page gives legal, tax or immigration guidance.

Money and independence

The site carries no advertising and no affiliate links, and nothing is published for payment. Rankings are described as the reports describe them, with criticism where a report's own audit or a stated limitation supports it.

Corrections

Fixes are logged on the corrections page with the date, the page and the change. To report one, use the contact page and include the page address and your source.
